Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of Vocalify — the website at vocalify.me and the app at app.vocalify.me (“Vocalify”, “the service”, “we”, “us”). By using the service you accept them. If you do not, please do not use Vocalify.
How we handle data is a separate document: the Privacy Policy. Money is covered by the Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.
1. Who operates Vocalify
Vocalify is operated by an independent developer. Written contact for anything in these terms: support@vocalify.me. Privacy requests go to privacy@vocalify.me.
2. Vocalify is in preview
The service is under active development. Features can change, move or be withdrawn, and we do not promise any particular uptime. Notably: no payment is currently taken. Completing the subscription flow switches the paid plan on for your account without charging you, and nothing about your account is billed until we say so in advance. See the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
3. Your account
Practising needs no account. An account is required to save your own melodies, routines and presets, and to sync across devices. You are responsible for the email address you sign in with and for anything done through your account. Tell us at support@vocalify.me if you think someone else is using it.
Vocalify is not directed to children under 13, and accounts are intended for people aged 13 or older.
4. What is free, and what the plan covers
Every exercise, the melody editor, your practice history, your recordings and syncing are free. Two things run on our servers and are covered by Vocalify Pro:
- Audio split — separating a backing track into accompaniment and vocals.
- An unlimited melody library — the free plan keeps up to 5 melodies.
A plan also raises the storage allowance (see section 6). Prices and current limits are on the pricing section of the home page and inside the app; we may change them for future periods, never retroactively for one you already hold.
5. Your content
Melodies, recordings, backing tracks and everything else you create or upload stay yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store, transmit and process that material — including running audio separation on a backing track you ask us to split — and to keep the backups described in the Privacy Policy. We do not use your recordings to train models, and we do not publish them.
You must have the right to upload what you upload. Do not upload material that infringes someone else's copyright, and remember that a commercial song you did not license is normally such material — separating it into stems does not change that. We may remove content we are told is infringing, and we may suspend accounts that repeatedly do this.
6. Storage allowance, and how a full account behaves
Recordings, backing tracks and separated stems share one storage allowance per account: 250 MB on the free plan, 5 GB on a paid plan.
When the allowance is full, your oldest recordings are deleted to make room for new ones. This is deliberate: a new take matters more than the oldest one, so recording keeps working instead of failing. The app warns you before it starts, from 80% of the allowance onwards, and tells you afterwards what was removed. Only recordings are removed this way — backing tracks and stems are never deleted automatically, because your melodies depend on them. Practice history, scores and replay data survive; only the audio goes. Export or download anything you want to keep permanently.
7. Acceptable use
Do not:
- use the service to store or distribute material you have no right to;
- resell, sublicense or repackage the service, or use it as a general file host or transcoding backend;
- interfere with it — automated bulk requests, attempts to bypass limits or authentication, probing for vulnerabilities without permission;
- use it in a way that breaks the law where you are.
8. Your voice, and your health
Vocalify measures pitch; it is not a teacher and it is not medical advice. Singing at the edge of your range can strain your voice. Stop if something hurts, and see a qualified teacher or a doctor for anything that persists. You are responsible for how hard you practise.
9. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service, and we may impose or adjust limits. Where a change materially reduces what a paid plan gives you, we will tell account holders by email before it applies to a period you have paid for.
10. Ending it
You can stop using Vocalify at any time, cancel a plan from your account page, and ask us to delete your account and its data (privacy@vocalify.me). We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we are required to; except in serious cases we will say why first and give you a chance to fix it. If we close your account without cause while you are on a paid period, we refund the unused part.
11. No warranty
The service is provided “as is”. We do our best to keep it working and your data intact — see the Privacy Policy on backups — but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that pitch measurements suit any particular purpose. Keep your own copies of recordings that matter to you.
12. Liability
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to what you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim (which, while no payment is taken, is zero), and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by this section.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the operator's country of establishment, and the courts there have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, EEA or UK, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer rules in your own country, and you may bring proceedings there.
14. Changes to these terms
We update this page when the service changes. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects account holders we will say so by email or in the app; continuing to use Vocalify after that means you accept it.
